Ready for EASTER?

Easter is a holiday which celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. It is movable feast cause it doesn’t fall on an exact day every year, as most of the holidays do. Lent, the 40-day period which leads us to Easter Sunday, is a time of reflection and it represents the alone time of Jesus, when he spent 40 days in the wilderness, before he started his ministry.

Holy Week is called the week preceding Easter.

This week includes Maundy Thursday - this day commemorates the last supper of Jesus with his disciplines; Good Friday - which honors the day of Jesus crucifixion; and Holy Sunday - the day of the transition between the crucifixion and resurrection.

In Christianity, the celebration of Eastertide includes Easter eggs, which are symbolizing the empty tomb of Jesus.  This egg is actually a reminder that Jesus rose from the grave, and that those who believe in it will also experience eternal life. Eggs, in general are a symbol of fertility and rebirth.
